Top 12 Tips For Starting Your Day Right

Top 12 Tips For Starting Your Day Right

Some of us are not early birds. Though it's challenging, you can adopt the right morning routine and reap the benefits of being an early riser.

Here are the top 12 habits to start your day with the right morning routine that can make your day every day.

1. Go to bed early (for at least 8 hours of sleep)

Try to set up a sustainable bedtime and wake-up routine that lets you catch a solid eight hours of sleep, at least. Once you find the right time to set the alarm (including rest days and holidays), it will prevent you from staying up late nights and feeling too drained to sleep while allowing you to awake refreshed.

2. Make your bed.

Though this might seem childish, Gretchen Rubin, author of "The Happiness Project," shows it is one simple way to get your day started right. When the bed is made, it helps the rest of the room look clean, and in order, which creates inner peace.

3. Keep your blinds open.

Sunlight is the perfect way to wake your body up naturally. According to a psychologist, raising your blinds first thing in the morning helps the night-to-morning body transition easier. It also helps fight winter blues.

4. Don't open your phone first.

Devote some time after you wake up to not look at any screens. Most people begin their morning with a quick scrolling through social media and emails. If you are like them, you need to stop the habit. It is much healthier to take those precious first moments of the day to improve your inner peace, even if it is just five minutes. It will help you start the day with a calm, focused, and positive mindset.

5. Meditate

Take a few minutes to meditate. Meditating does everything from improving the sense of calm, peace, and balance benefitting to both your emotional well-being and your overall health.

6. Set your goals for today

Write a short to-do list with 3-4 major goals for today. It's an effective way to start the day knowing what your goals are to meet. That way, you can focus your energy and time on the tasks that matter most.

7. Stretch

Though many people ignore it, stretching is a great way to kick-start your metabolism. After eight hours of good sleep, your body needs a warm-up. Doing a stretching routine helps you loosen your muscles, boosting blood flow to your muscles.

8. Drink a glass of lukewarm water

Downing a glass of lukewarm water in the morning will help you hydrate and feel awake and energized. And do not forget to drink water during the day for proper hydration.

9. Take a relaxing shower with an aromatherapy shower steamer

Taking a shower is a great and refreshing way to relax your body. When showering combined with aromatherapeutic benefits, it doubles up the effect. Aromatherapy shower steamer enhances the health of the body, mind, and spirit.

10. Brush your teeth & wash your face.

A cliché, but it never gets old. Brushing coats, the teeth with a protective fluoride layer to shield against the sugars and acids while leaving breath refreshed. On the other hand, a proper skincare regimen targets skin woes for healthy, beautiful skin.

11. Eat a healthy breakfast.

As many of us know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A balanced breakfast with lean protein, whole grains, and healthy fats provides energy to start your day productively.

12. Make yourself look good.

Good looks reveal general health, well-being, as well as confidence. When you look good, it makes us happy. And the happier we are, the more confident we feel. This boost of trust often leads to better career opportunities.

Before leaving your house, don't forget to say something beautiful and productive to yourself in the mirrorIt gets your spirit up- today is going to be the best day ever!
